Photographer’s Note
A night shot of Olympia's Capitol Building. Taken early evening, during the blue hour. Tripod used to avoid camera shake.

you take a very very good night shot, alford.
I love the colours here, and the fact that you took it during the blue hour. very beautiful.
I would have slightly underexposed here, but nevermind what I say! great picture

Hi Alford,
Nice attempt at a night photo, you got a good subject and came at the right moment, the blue hour with the right equipment, the tripod. Now the result is not very good, why ? Looking at the dome, you see that its structure is damaged and I think it comes mostly from the strong compression you have applied here, you rimage is only 65 KB big when you could use up to 200 KB !
Also I find your aperture f/4 much too wide for this lens and the conditions, I think you should close beyond f/11 in aperture priority mode, don't worry you have a tripod so unless there is strong wind the photo wil not be blurred. And don't forget to use the shutter delay to minimize vibrations.
Hope this helps, I wish you a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

Hi Alford. That really reminds me of the Capitol building in Wash, DC. The noise is non-existent. The hour of day was perfect for maximum colors as well.
