Photographer’s Note

Another shot from my series of photos showing farmland and rural life in Eastern Washington. Eastern Washington is much hotter and drier than Western Washington, with mainly smaller agricultural towns, not many big cities.

This picture was taken through the window of a car, moving around 70MPH. I do not remember the exact location of this photo, my guess is it is somewhere near Yakima.

Hi Matt,

Another terrific addition to the rural theme you've been featuring recently. Incredible sharpness considering you were taking the picture at such a speed but I guess 1/3000 sec. will freeze even 70mph of blur!

I'm not sure how much attention you can pay to framing at that speed but your composition is very good regardless, no half cows on the edge of the frame etc. I like the sky and the various patterns in the fields and the way the light catches them - it all makes for a very pleasing photo.

Hi Matt,
There are nice places to shoot in countryside America, the photo looks good to me and I like the light on top of the hill outlining its graphism. Are these water sprinklers near the cows ?
I think you could get even better results stopping the car and taking time to polish you photo or wait for the best moment instead of just shooting by driving...
