Photographer’s Note
The border between the USA and Canada is the longest undefended border in the world, and is delineated by a slash of cut trees, maybe 20 meters wide, along the 49th parallel. Over terrain such as this! A testament to the engineering and forestry skills in North America.
My dad and I hiked from Manning Park in Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail to the top of Mt. Winthrop in Washington State in the USA. The trail is over 4 500km long, from Mexico to Canada. I was happy hiking the two days covering maybe 1% of the total trail.

Hi Andrew,
Very nice view! I love the colors here, sounds like a great hike! I have always wanted to hike along the Pacific Crest Trail, but haven't made it out yet. You really capture the feeling here--well done, thanks for sharing!

Hello Andrew,
A beautifully scanned shot of Manning Park, accompanied by a succinct, but informative note. What extraordinarily rugged terrain. In the photo are we looking N, E, S or W? It is a very good photo, but I wonder how a photo shot with your new Nikon D200 would look?
Warm regards, and it's great to hear from you, Andrew,
Bulent
