Mount Rainier is an active stratovolcano (also known as a composite volcano) in Pierce County, Washington, located 54 miles (87 km) southeast of Seattle, Washington, in the United States. It is the highest peak in the Cascade Range and Cascade Volcanic Arc at 14,410 feet (4,392 m). The mountain and the surrounding area are protected within Mount Rainier National Park. With 26 major glaciers, Mount Rainier is the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states with 35 square miles (91 km²) of permanent snowfields and glaciers.

Hi Tola,
Lucky you was to take picture about it, i passed a few moment around Seattle and when i went to mount Rainier the weather was cloudy and i didn't see it... :-(
i like the forest in fist plan, good indication of the scale of the mount.

Beautiful Mt Rainier,
Since you live in Seattle, One day you should go closer and find a nice foreground with wildflower and lake and take the best photo of it. This is just a very casual snap shot, quality is not that good, does not do justification for the majestic mountain.
