Photographer’s Note

At the Tacoma Tall ship Festival again; this is the Cuauhtemoc from Mexico. It is a training tall ship and was built in the Celaya shipyards (Bilbao, Spain). It was completed in July 29, 1982 when it was delivered to its first crew, the Mexican Navy. Cuauhtemoc, has trained twenty-one generations of officers and it has sailed 408,853 miles in 3,178 days. Technical details below. For more information on the Festival see my previous posts.
I think I enjoyed the entrance of this ship the most, because of the sailors all on parade in the rigging, and also it accompanied itself by some stirring music. It brought a lump to the throat!
I like this photo because it was possible to get in fairly close; I only cropped a little at the back and some heads from the bottom. I also like the light and shade on the furled sails.
