Photographer’s Note

This picture of the poppies in front of the lavender was also taken at the Sequim Lavender Festival last weekend. Sequim has a uniquely dry climate (unusual for Washington) because it lies in the shadow of the Cascade mountain range. Lavender thrives in a dry climate in a sandy soil.
