Photographer’s Note

Boy, it's sure nice to be contributing again. I haven't done so in a long time because I sold my digital camera last year with the intention of upgrading, but you know how it goes...

This was taken at the Lavender Festival in Sequim, Washington in July of this year. Picture was taken using slide film. I had it scanned at an outfit here in my hometown of Olympia, WA. Unfortunately, the results have not been acceptable to me. The pictures are soft, the colors are off, and the exposures are poor. However, the slides are right on the money. Anyway, I haven't saved up the money yet to buy a more sophisticated digital camera, this is the best I can do right now.

Nice shot Andrea. Lovely colours and good composition. The shot could be sharper though, as you mentioned in your note. I hear it is possible to get slide scanners these days and "do it yourself". I have so many slides, I am thinking about that option.
