Photographer’s Note
the carnival game workers are bored during the bumbershoot festival...too much other entertainment for people to want to play the typical carnival games set up in this area...
the stark contrast of the booths next to each other caught my attention. each one is so thematic and brightly colored and different from the next, contained in these little linear boxes all lined up next to each other. as i saw it, lining up the camera with the pillar dividing these two, you are able to see straight on the difference between the two booths.
"I've walked these streets
In a carnival
Of sights to see
All the cheap thrill seekers
The vendors & the dealers
They crowded around me
Have I been blind
Have I been lost
Inside myself and
My own mind
Hypnotized
Mesmerized
By what my eyes have seen?"

Excellent composition. I love the colors of carnivals and I've been struggling to figure out how to capture them without creating a banal shot. This is an excellent composition where one first sees the colors and patterns and then the subject. Well done!
