Photographer’s Note
This is the only covered bridge in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington State. It is not usable anymore and it is deteriorating at quite a rapid pace. The roof is more off than on hence the title. If anyone wants to do a WS to improve the B&W please feel free but tell me what you did. I don't have PS CS so that might be a drawback in doing B&W conversions.

Hi Phil,
Excellent sharpness and clairty to this battered old weather beaten span making a striking reflection in the placid waters of this slow stream. I like the tight framing and believe this is an interesting subject for the b&w treament because of the decayed condition of the bridge. Back east there would have been a committe formed to restore this historical bridge.

Hi Phil,
I'm a total ignorant on the subject B&W landscapes, all I know is Ansel Adams (who doesn't!!!), but this looks absolutely fine to me.
I see a lovely view annex great POV & definition, and a nice piece of All American history.
Therefore : smiley!
Thanks for sharing, buddy. I hope somebody stands up and takes care of this bridge before it all goes to hell.
Cheers.
Fulvio.

Hi Phil,
What a cool shot in black and white. The reflections are awesome and the contrasts and light control excellent . Very well seen and TFs. Gerald

Hello Phil! I agree with Fulvio and add that it isn't easy to understand full size at first view either because of the trees reflection under the bridge. This kind of structures are very "exotic" for me, as we don't have anything similar. And it looks a bit "obtrusive" to the landscape. Now, don't think I don't like the photo: I do! :-) Good light and contrast, and a full range of greys. But my eyes, trying to follow the natural path of the river, stumble once and again with that bridge...
Good job and good document!
Kind regards,
Inés

I am glad to see the covered bridge because I very like them but I have never seen in life. Very nice B&W shot and the reflection is beautiful.
Thanks, Csilla

Hello Phil
It is old but still nice. I think the B&W is a good idea to make the bridge older. The reflection is very good and the point of view too. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards
Denis!

Hi Phil,
This is a fine capture of this old bridge and great choice of black & white. Wonderful composition which brings out some nice contrast and I love the mirror like reflections on the water! Great work, Phil!
Greetings,
Ann

Hi Phil,
I would love to see the color version of this. Love the reflections of the bridge, the shot has a rustic look to it. I am not sure if the B/W is doing justice here.
Regards,
Shaeri
