Photographer’s Note
This image was taken from Steptoe Butte at sunrise. There are numerous opportunities to isolate a variety of compositions here. A telephoto lens and a tripod are a must. I would suggest that anyone planning on going here should be prepared for wind and much cooler temperatures especially first thing in the morning.

Wow Phil,
This is a great image. You've really captured the color and light on the landscape very well with silky smooth details. The only thing is, I'd like to see jut a bit more of the horizon, but all in all a super shot.

Wow, this is amazing! I have long wanted to visit this place, but I've never made it there yet. When I see photos like this it makes me even more determined to go - the wavy fields are incredible, and you went at the perfect time, first thing in the morning. The low angle of light really shows the contours of the terrain. This looks more like an ocean with frozen waves than a farm area. Superb!

Hello Phil,
A strange and beautiful landscape, where the pattern created by the grassy hills is underscored by the low morning light. Very well captured.

Bonjour Phil,

Hello Phil! What an amazing view ... I could sit still for a while and just enjoy. I have never heard of this area, and it was actually you bringing this over into my living room. I love your first morining light, it is still soft and gives these rolling hills a tender touch. This is wonderful, I love it. Have a great day, Barbara.

Hey, Phil,
I have never seen anything like this in my life. It is almost like a science fiction landscape. The light and shadows are breathtaking and I love the different shades of green. This is just astonishing to me. Wow. And in my own country. Dang. Thanks, Phil, if I never get to visit, I sure appreciate the view. Warm regards,
Shelly

Phil I didn't have time to comment earlier this week but knew I had to return to this photo of yours. First off impressions are that this place is a MUST see for me. When are you returning to it???
I see Alvin has commented on these hills looking like the ocean. I would have to agree with that except that this ocean is a wonderful display of beautiful green. Not sure what thoughts you had about the top of the frame. I am sure glad you handled it well with no glare spots at all. A fantastic shot to say the least. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Phil,
Definitely one of your most impressive shots of this region. The lighting is eerie. Every pocket and fold is discernible here and there is excellent depth. It was worth the early morning rise. The interesting mound that curves in the foreground enhances nicely. Superb work.

Hola,
yes! is great this one. The green tonalities are amazing, and the "play" of shadows gives a special texture to this landscape. The composition is really good, with the lonelies trees at the bottom. may be would prefer to see a little bit more the horion with all the mountain at right, but may be it was impossibe to took all.
Best regards,
javier
