Osprey on Nest
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Today I went down to the Osprey nest to take some shots. The male flew around on & off the nest several times but the female never left the nest. I assume she has eggs by now since they returned about a month ago to nest. Just a block away is another nest I just discovered built on a railway bridge. The birds by that nest though are much more shy than this pair nesting on top of a nesting platform.

Nice composition, Julie, with the bird and landing balancing each other, but also giving the bird plenty of negative space. Good work!
Super sharpness and details, you can even see the intense look in the eyes, fishing no doubt! Well done.
Great nature shot you really capture the female determination in protecting her nest. I saw a nature show that claimed that when they come north for the spring & summer the female never leaves the nest and the male is almost constantly in flight either looking for nest material or providing food for the female and chicks. They mate for life and I don't want to come back as a male osprey.
