Photographer’s Note
If you ever have the time to check out Bellingham in Washington state, I would highly recommend a walk on Larabee Park on Chuckanut Drive. Along the shoreline there is a wonderful selection of sandstone sculptures that can really grab your attention. It was the lighting on these two rocks that captivated my imagination thinking they may look somewhat like faces. At any rate you can see the shoreline on the lower right bringing a small sense of depth to the photo. Hope you like it.

Hello Paul,
Fabulous detail shot of the rocks that evokes an abstract creation. The composition, colors and resolution are first rate.

Well done Paul
I haven't been there for a while. You have captured the texture of this sandstone very well. The angle of light shows the detail nicely.

Very interesting rocks Paul. The lighting is just right to be able to show the shape very well, and the smooth texture is unusual and beautiful. I'm definitely going to have to check this place out next time I'm in Bellingham, because I've never seen it before. Nice work!

Hell Paul -
You are so right about the details - so many of us are focused on the grand landscape or travel image we forget the details. This is something my wife excels at and I am working to pay more attention to. Sandstone can have some marvelous shapes and textures, the best example is The Wave in southern Utah. This rock has some of those same elements but enhanced by the salt and wave action. This is a nice composition and good decision to include some of the surrounding BG to anchor the composition. IMO, the image looks a touch soft especially the area nearest the camera.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Paul,
I really had to take a second look at the thumbnail to figure out what you were presenting here. But upon opening the image I was very pleasantly surprised - great details and textures here and the small segment of shoreline really helps to bring perspective and depth. Well done and TFs. Gerald
