Photographer’s Note

Taken in early January on a rare sunny day on the Skagit estuary. There are lots of birds in this area. We saw a bald eagle and some ducks but most of the time it was the sun we wanted to see.

A very clean picture.
The composition is good. The foreground is present, although not obtrusive, just to indicate that we (the photographer, the viewers) are right there, close to that foreground, i.e. being part of the scene.

hi mary,
the composition is perfect. the colors are easy on the eye giving it a radiant feel. the clear reflections of both the barn and the tree are added charms.

Hello Mary.
I like this scene in its pale wintry light. It seems to me the colours and lighting are very natural. The composition is a nice one, with something in the foreground, and the couple walking back along the curving path from the shack. Perhaps I would crop about 30% off the sky at the top. But a very nice scene with a lovely reflection.

Hi Mary!
This is absolutely beautiful Mary! I can imagine you becoming a real professional now you are retired! This sort of laguna, the wooden barn and its reflection in the water, with the blue hills in the background, give the best of effects.

Have a good weekend! Today is finally sunny here, just like spring. The blue tits came on our window sills to say they were ready to start preparing for their nest in the crab apple tree by the kitchen window! So we put some food out for them too, as it had been a frosty night!
