Photographer’s Note
No fruit cake jokes now! In my family we have prepared this recipe for more years than I remember. It is my great grandmother's recipe. We love it but most importantly we love the tradition that goes along with it. The baker always has a little glass of sherry when she puts the cakes into the oven and silently wishes all the family peace and health. In the back ground you see our Advent Wreath (easier to make it from a log). I love this tradition too. No matter what your beliefs the wishes that go with this tradition are universal. There are 4 candles, the first is lit with a wish for Hope, the second one is for Peace, the third is for Joy and the last is for Love. These are my wishes for all of you for this Christmas.

Hello Mary,
It is lovely to see your family tradition. There are so many ways to celebrate the holidays, even here in the USA. Talking about the photo itself, the presentation could have been a bit more sharp, and the table is a bit tilted (!), but I am sure your wanted to teach about the traditions most importantly with this photo. Wishing you all the best this holiday season as well. :-)

Hello Mary!
I was just admiring your photo last night, before going to bed, and thinking of critiquing it this morning!
And here is a message from you on my Nativity!
Thank you for your visit!
Your picture is very cheerful and relly puts one in the spirit of Christmas! It also makes your mouth water, and it must be difficult to wait until Christmas before eating them!
The note is very interesting too, this recipe having been in the family for so long! ( Is it secret? 0))
As for Wordldcitizen's critique, it's true that there is a little tilt, although I probably wouldn't have noticed it! My eye still needs training! However, I have posted a WS.
All the best for today!
marie Louise.
