Photographer’s Note

Goblin Valley State Park is a detour for those travelling from Arches National Park to Capitol Reef National Park. It's worth the visit. This photo was taken from our picnic table at the shaded Observation Point. The "goblins" were created out of the erosion of Entrada sandstone.

I did follow Toni (Toni_al) down closer to the goblins but didn't stay long as it was so hot (40°C) and I lost sight of Toni. Actually I started panicking because he had gone down there without water (and only his D700) and even when I got back up to the Observation Point, I couldn't see him and was wondering if he'd been taken by the goblins. What a relief when he finally turned up with lots of photos of course.
