Photographer’s Note

Here is one of the slot canyons of Grand Staircase. This is Spooky Gulch and it is a quarter mile long canyon. It is so narrow that it is a team effort to help people and packs up and over rocks. Heavier or claustrophobic people won't be able to make it through some spots.

Spook Gulch is about an hour's drive south of the town of Escalante on a dirt road where you'll see very few other souls. One of the most magical natural places in America.

In this photo, I loved the different stripes of colors -- from black to pink to white.
