Photographer’s Note
Well after a four week holiday in Wyoming, Utah, Arizona and Idaho I am back with a few images that I hope you will enjoy. This is Canyonlands from one of the viewpoints that shows the Colorado River and the result of its work for millions of years.

Hi, Phil,
This is a terrific photo.
I love the way you have effectively filled the frame with the sequence of receding buttes on the left.
The bit of haze on the right helps reinforce the sense of depth.
The sharpness and clarity are excellent, especially on the left side of the frame.
The colors are magnificent.
Kind regards,
- William

I like the close-up view, with no sky.
You nicely isolated the rock formations, and the resulst is an amazing patten of ridges in an almost monochromatic picture.
Very good work

Hello Phil! This is one of the most exciting places I have been to but also one of the most difficult things to take photos of. I find you have managed well but I guess you also have to understand the light conditions, explain it to other people. This area takes the light away, it swollows the light, I have once read it is the worst light for a photographer ... most of the time. I have not many good photos of this area, from this year almost none. We had no SUN but it was overcast and what came out is a pale red stone :))) I like it, Phil, I can appreciate it, you have chosen a really good detail from this park. Congratulations ... I hope we see more of it ... Welcome back ... Barbara.

Is this part of Island in the Sky? Canyonlands is an amazing place, but with difficult light. It looks like the light wasn't too harsh for you, as there are none of the black shadows I had to contend with. I like the way you have composed this with part of the canyon coming from the bottom corner. You have captured the unique Utah colours very well.
Good to see you back

Hello Phil,
The view is spectacular and the low angle that obscures the sky, makes it harder and copper captures our attention on the fantastic rocks of the canyon. Bravo!
Best wishes,
Charo

Hi Phil,
An interesting point of view on these canyonlands. The shapes, curves and lines are eye-catching. I like the soft colours and the vasteness of that place. Great capture Phil!
Best regards
Denis!

Hi Phil,
Good design and creation of this mystical, desolate plateau and canyons.
I really great way to explore is to take one of the 3 or 4 day raft trips on the Colorado through Cataract Canyon. A lifetime experience.
Thanks for sharing,
Ray

Hi Phil,
this is a breathtaking view here.
Very nice closeup. I have visited this place but did not go over all my shots from this area yet.
Great idea to focus on the details -it shows more of the atmosphere of this place.
I like it very much,
M
