Photographer’s Note
Those aware of my gallery may wonder what I've been smoking - like, I posted pictures from our visit to Zion National Park in 2007, why another one now? Well I ran across this image the other day and it sort of jumped out at me, so I took a closer look and decided to post it today. I liked the quiet ambience of this spot off the main road and although the trees obscure the view, I also liked the reflections. For more of my images, click HERE

Hi Gerald
I drove past the northern Utah entrance to Zion Park in November 2008 in a Greyhound bus, but it was $135 US for an expensive daytrip from Las Vegas, so I ended up missing it. Here, I can see what I missed. Tfs!

hi Gerald,
this lokks a little like the Riverside walk just before the Narrows :) lace feels unusually calm for Zion, and that's what I like a lot. the tree in the foreground adds nice depth, and reflection of the "signature" red clifs is a nice touch.

Hello Gerald,
A fine composition drawn from the archives. I like the feeling of peace of calm and the lovely reflections. The rich red rocks make a fine contrast with the lush greenery. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Gerald
Such a delightful and well balanced shot. The light was nicely handled and the tree hanging across the river was well placed in the scene. We are heading down that way in late August. I shall look for this spot.

Really nice elements in this shot Gerald. Good color and composition, especially the reflection of the cliffs. Exposure, shooting from shade to light is solid as well.

Hi Gerald,
The red sandstone cliffs look magnificent in their natural farme of green trees and vivid blue sky.
The vertical format works very well here and the stunning reflection was well thought out.

Hi Gerald:
Very nice shot. Zion is one of my favorite places on earth. I love the reflection. Hard to find in the Utah desert. Exposure's also excellent--seems like it would be a bit hard given the light conditions. However, the image is tilted quite a bit to the left. If you look at the cliff wall and its reflection, they don't perfectly line up. Otherwise, great shot.

Bonjour Gerald,
All the best.

Hi Gerald,
Really beautiful, you had a good eye for catching an unusual reflection. the saturation introduced by the subdued light creates a wonderful effect. I like also the contrasts of colours (red stone, blue sky and reflection, green of the trees and bushes), the compo and their abundant "triangles" and, finally, the intrinsic beauty of the view, of course.
Regards,
José

Hello Gerald,
You chose a nice vertical frame, the strong blue reflection in the small puddle care for extra colour.
Lovely image with superb composition and beautiful details.
Very well done, TFS.

Hi Gerald,
It jumped out of the thumbnail at me too!! The diagonal line of the rocks reflected in the creek below with the strong color contrasts make a composition that has both a balanced harmony and forceful appeal.

Hi Gerald,
This reminded me that I needed to revisit this park soon and not just passing by. I have been here a dozen of times, but many time are just stop for the night or just passing by, The couple of time I really stay for a couple of day was long ago before the digital age anyway, so I don't really have a good shot of it yet. This one is wonderful the reflection us really wonderful. Good shot.
