Photographer’s Note
It's autumn again in Utah, and the aspen are starting to really turn yellow.
I thought I would see what the bark would do with the built in fill flash.

Like a Bev Doolittle painting, these aspen trees make an astonishingly beautiful tribute to nature. Well defined image and a symphony of colors. I like it very much. Regards from Virginia, Bulent

Terrific colours, as I'm sure you intended! Interestingly, the fill-flash you've used has added a sort of golden touch to the tree trunks, rather than flat white. It's very appealing, and certainly enhances your image. Well done!

Hi Dana!
This is the first very well looking autumn shot I've seen so far this year.
I like the bright white of the trees standing out against the colours ranging from green to brown.
Very well seen and the composition is nice, too.

Hello,
wonderful colours and sharpness. And I like the way the aspens stand out of the background. There is an impession of depth that is often lacking in "forest" photos. Very nice, indeed.
Best regards Kristof

Dear Dana ... feels like being in the woods myself looking at your photo. I can almost smell the earth and the dead leaves. So fall has you all as I can see. Here in Zurich it is just about to start. Greetings, Barbara.

Dear Dana,
This is a fantastically beautiful picture of autumn. The trees are so lively that the viewers can feel the atmosphere just by watching this photo. I really feel refreshed after watching this. Thanks for sharing.

The use of your flash really makes this photo stand out.
Those of us that live here along the wasatch front are lucky to have so many locations to shoot in all seasons, especially fall.
I appreciate your photography notes, I always learn something new with each of your postings.

Your use of flash here has worked well, Dana, and has not over-exposed the tree trunks. In fact, it's given them an almost 3D feel and brought out the detail very well. Overall this is a technically a very good image and it is 'artistic' too in that it looks very much like a painting. Cheers . . . David
