Photographer’s Note
I suppose it's apparent that I find this building to be an interesting subject. This is the West stairs taken from the residential area across the street.
This image was shot RAW, then adjusted in Photoshop's RAW tool for tone using curves, then sharpened, color adjusted, gray scale adjusted, then split toned with yellow highlights and blue dark tones. I then moved it into Photoshop for cropping, black and white filter plus color toning, edge burning, and finally a highlight curves adjustment.
I think the final effect is almost pencil drawing-like. Although if you look at it closely, the street lamps begin leading your mind back to the idea that it's a photograph. I also like using a square crop here, almost Hasselblad in inspiration for me.
I love to hear what others think. Please feel free to give feedback as this is how all of us learn!

Hi Steve,
I like the symmetry of your photo. Your choice of B&W is really good, it permits to focus on architectural details of the monument. Maybe it lacks a little bit of contrast. I propose you a little workshop. It's a pity your framing doesn't include the top of the Capitole.
Regards,
Delphine
