Photographer’s Note
Location: Rock Canyon Park in Provo, Utah.
About the Photo: Sledding and snow tubing are popular winter activities here in Utah, especially with younger kids (I've gone 3 or 4 times this year :-)). I caught this girl just as she flew off a small jump.
Here is another photo from the same shoot.
When I uploaded this photo to my computer I realized it had been nearly 4 months since the last time I used my camera!

Now how the heck did that streetlight get there? (it's leaning a little BTW) nice minimalistic shot, static everywhere but the snowboarder, and he or she ends up getting more intended attention despite the diminutive size.

A funny and also very eye-catching composition. I like its minimalism, and the presence of the pole.

You should post often my friend, your work is to good for not showing here. Two subjects in a very simple framing, but what an impact. The snowborder gives great action jumping of his board and the lantarn for counter balance...amazing. You have a great eye in seeing these things, but i already told you that a very long time ago.
Please keep on posting...
Have a nice weekend, Henk

Superb. I love snow and there is none here...
Minimalistic, the b/w is beautiful, fine-tuned work and graphic too. What more to say ? I love it. It goes into my favorites theme, after looking at both for a long time, I think I prefer the ws for the particular mood...
Post more...!
TFS
Have a great w-end

I like the use of negative space here and the two focal points being the snowboarder and the lamp post. Well seen.

Yesssssssssss ... love the jump and I wish this was me :)))))))) I really love your minimal approach here and it is very special how "small" you kept the kid, it underlines somehow the fun she has within all the white. I wonder what kind of music she had in her ear but it must have been on the wild side.
Have good weekend, skiing maybe? Barbara.

Both photos are amazing Ryan, in all their minimalist strength. You are very good in these minimalist compos. Really good. I like the whiteness of these shots and the way you used the black elements to convey emotion. The fact that you are far away from the scene is crucial. She looks like a cartoon in the middle of all that snow. Amazing.

Hi Ryan, yes you seem to stay away from your cam those monthes, perhaps are you waiting for spring :) .. But a delight anyway to see you posting sometimes, it's good sometimes to take some time out of cam and photography, when you'll find again the 'spirit' your pics will be even better ... This is a passionnal addiction, but sometimes it's the best thing that can happen to a photographer to have a break. See you soon my friend :)
What a nice picture !!! Your subtile BW works really well here and the atitude of the girl and her gesture is excellent and funny. I wish she saw that shot !!

Hi Ryan,
Impressive shot with all this white and just a child jumping and that lamp post in the distance! A simple looking photo, but oh so strong due to the use of black and white. Great eye and great timing! Great work, Ryan!

Great composition, enhanced by the choice of B&W. I like how the figures almost get lost in the shot. Regards, Yvonne

Hi Ryan,
It amazing to me how this tiny figure shows such joyous abandon; the stark white snowscape emphasizes the figure well.

I missed your latest shots and I was wondering where you'd been. This minimalist beauty is eyecatching. Your timing is great; you caught the snowboarder in an awkward, funny moment. Congrats.
