Photographer’s Note

It is amazing how quickly times change, but a hint of yesteryear leaves one gasping for a simpler time and place.

I was out shooting early fall colors, some of which are showing in the background of this image, when driving up the South Fork of Provo Canyon, I passed this barn.

The structure, texture and color caught my eye. I have to admit, my first frame was on TMax 100, and took the "provisional" shot on Velvia.

Thy sky had interest, and I tried to keep a footing of bright green on the bottom and used a polarizer to reduce refelctions on the metal roof and darken the sky. It also helped increase the realized color saturation.

I used some rise on the camera to keep the true shape of what is left of the facad of the barn, I had in my notes I used some rear tilt too, can't imagine why.

This place is no longer here, but it was a reminder of "Daily Life" in the part of Utah.
