Photographer’s Note

I had an hour for a drive, so I thought I would see how the autumn trees were progressing near where I live. This image is made from the Cascade Ridge area, near Provo Peak looking towards Mt. Timpanogos in the near center (11,750 ft.), and the mountains west of Salt Lake City in the background.

The view is at least 45 miles deep. This is a very beautiful area, and at this time of year full bow hunters looking to get their deer. If you visit the Wasatch Front in Utah, take the time to travel some of the roads a little less traveled, they can be rewarding.

I chose a wide lens, at 10mm to bring in the drama of the sky. No cropping, with only slight color correction for post processing.
