Photographer’s Note

I'm sure I'll never see everything this beautiful world has to offer, but surely the most breathtaking experience in all of God's nature is spending sunrise or sunset in the mountains.

I drove up to Cascade Meadows above Provo last night (thanks Ryan for the directions), and took some lovely shots of the area (which I'll hopefully post later). I parked a good deal away from where I ended up, and as I was walking along the road to my car at about 8:10 pm, I saw this beautiful scene. I pulled out the camera, shot a couple frames to stitch together later, and went back to admiring the beautiful scenery around me. Turns out this was my favorite shot of the night.

As I shot this, I thought of the poem from Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings books:

The road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy.
