Photographer’s Note
I'm sure I'll never see everything this beautiful world has to offer, but surely the most breathtaking experience in all of God's nature is spending sunrise or sunset in the mountains.
I drove up to Cascade Meadows above Provo last night (thanks Ryan for the directions), and took some lovely shots of the area (which I'll hopefully post later). I parked a good deal away from where I ended up, and as I was walking along the road to my car at about 8:10 pm, I saw this beautiful scene. I pulled out the camera, shot a couple frames to stitch together later, and went back to admiring the beautiful scenery around me. Turns out this was my favorite shot of the night.
As I shot this, I thought of the poem from Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings books:
The road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy.

Hello Clark -
It truly is a nice scene and I can understand the joy you experienced. But, I find this image to a bit over saturated. I may be wrong but the rocks look a little unnatural. There is some nice detail in the shadows along the road and some nice contrast between the shadows and trees. Now that I think about it the WB may be off giving that over saturated look. Anyway, well seen.
Thank you for sharing.

Very nice shot! The sun on the mountain is beautiful, really giving the forest an incredible green color. The use of the road is good too, because it leads us into the scene. Well done!

Lovely POV Clark... it's a very inviting photograph. I really love the composition. I do agree that it's slightly over-saturated as the clouds are slightly pink and the greens a bit too green. But overall it's wonderful!

This is really nice Clark. The exposure is perfect on top and on bottom. Sharpness looks really good too. Did you do two different exposures? I can't even tell this is a stitch. I was up there three nights ago; we just missed each other by one day. I however, left early because I wanted to get home to watch the Jazz game. In hindsight, I should have stayed for the sunset ;-)
