Photographer’s Note
Another shot from Saturday. This one was taken on the exact opposite side of the mountains from the previous two. This is an area known as Rock Canyon, for obvious reasons if you've ever been there. At the mouth of the canyon, there is relatively little vegetation and lots of rock compared with other parts of the mountains here. However, the farther in you go, the more lush it becomes. Hopefully I can post pictures of the lush areas later. This one was taken about half a mile in.
As I looked at this shot, it reminded me of a botanical version of the children's game "King of the Hill." Lots of trees crowding the bottom; only a few that make it to the higher elevation and precipitous cliffs. Those are the kings of the hill.
I ran this through Neat Image, adjusted the colors slightly, and sharpened it. Lots of blue and green--that's what you see on a sunny day in the mountains around here right now. No complaints about that, of course. Let me know what you think.

Hi Clark
A nice and well lit scene where details are nice and sharp allowing us to see the many textures of both the rocks and the trees. Nice colours too.
Best wishes

Hello Clark,
Your photo is very beautiful with rich colors and great sharpness. These types of less grandiose landscapes don't get enough credit. I imagine that the fall colors are gorgeous. I understand that you have maple trees in these types of canyons in your home state that turn bright red in the autumn. Excellent work!
