Photographer’s Note
Location: The Computer Science Building on the campus of Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah.
About the Photo: This photo was taken just a couple hours ago. I was in between classes at UVSC and instead of studying (like a good college student) I was looking for something interesting to photograph. I noticed this girl sitting on the ground (two levels below), talking on her cellphone.

Ryan -
Interesting perspective, I do like the colored pipeing and the geometric shapes. Expsoure, DOF, etc seems to be right on but I am at a loss for anything else to say other than Interesting.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Ryan. Wonderful contrast between the inorganic building and the organic girl. The colours of the pipes and ducting and the diagonal composition add a surreal look. Well spotted and well captured thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Excellent shot! I love the way the colourful architecture provides a frame for your subject.
Good and sharp considering it was a hand-held? shot.

Great shot! I like the look down through the different floors, and the angles of the lines in this, which is interesting and unusual. The bright colours add an accent to an otherwise grey scene, and of course, the girl at the bottom is what gives this a great focal point. I'm not sure what I feel when I see this - maybe the isolation of modern society? Anyways, the fact that it provokes thought makes this a great shot!

Bonjour Ryan,
Super cette image avec un POV et un cadrage original ! Belle netteté, j'aime les tubes de couleurs qui contrastent avec le beton environnant, j'aime le côté graphique et cette fille posée au milieu... Belle idée !
Amicalement,
Stéphanie.

Interesting and very different for you Ryan.
The colour and geometric forms through the image are superb.
The texture in the concrete and the contrast of those brightly painted pipes works really well for this study.
The girl's placement in the frame is spot on too.
Well done, I hope we see more architectural stuff from you

This is just amazing Ryan. It's not usual to see a person in your pictures, but I have to say that when you do it, you do it on a highly poetic scale. I love the solitude mood that breathes through the scene. The intense graphic quality of your photo even enhances that feeling. Love the colors, the lines, and the concrete feel. And your creative pov… Great one my friend, surely one of my favorites from you.

Hi Ryan
I like very much your photo. Colors are magnificent and the geometrical lines are built well. The young lady is an element indispensable to your composition.
We are inside a very colored matrix :)

Hi Ryan.

Very well done, Ryan. I really like shots where the photographer "creates" (or really, identifies) a space, with someone there to occupy it. Very well framed.
As a professor I suppose I should chastise you for not studying, but it does look like you made good use of your time...
Regards, Ken.

A little different from the norm, but excellent nonetheless. Great framing and perspective. i like how all of the geometry and color serve to pull towards the girl, this piece has great harmony.
Thanks!

Hi Ryan!
I'm a bit disapointed in you.... for not being a "good" student ;-)... as for the photo, on the contrary, I'm very impressed, hehe. Once again you've been creative and made a nice shot. I'de like to meet the guy who chose the colors in your college, probably not a boring person...;-) Anyway, your POV is just very smart with the "squares inside the square thing" (you know what I mean... I hope ;-))
This tiny human presence surrounded by squre, logical, straight architecture is quiet reassuring... I like the overall mood!
Very original! Well done!!
Vincent
