Goodbye, Monument Valley, a photo from Utah, West

Photographer's Note

It took us about 3 hours to tour the 17-mile Valley Drive. Because the different light conditions, it would be ideal to repeat it next morning. But the road was so rough, we were afraid of the SUV would break down in the middle the trip. I got up very early, watched the horizon changing colors behind the buttes (on our room’s balcony), eventually sun jumped out. This was the highlight of my entire Southwestern trip.

Early morning or late afternoon as best for landscape photography. I just got back from Grand Canyon covered with snow but the lighting was not very good. You captured the lighting very well with the shadows creating depth. Good dof with sharp details and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

la Monument Valley è un soggetto non facile per la luce violenta che batte sulle sue rocce, ma ti sei saputa disimpegnare bene con questo scatto dai toni bicromatici, nel quale contrapponi cielo e terra sia come elementi che come colori sfruttando il forte contrasto offerto dalla natura per evidenziare l'esprezza del luogo.
Una foto che è un documento di questo luogo già visto in tanti film.

Hello Tiffany,

The cliffs serve almost as drapes in this dramatic shot of Monument Valley. Years ago I got very close, and yet missed seeing the powerful formations. I will always regret that omission.

A great photojob done on this pic., with immaculate clarity and DOF.
Picture space is well allocated, and notable shaded area in foreground while "shining" rocks as main subject.
Pleasent to look at, and most impressive desert view.

It could only be described as beautiful nature wild west landscpe, the warm light kissing the rock formation is nice and well rendered. The overall colour tones are stunning, fascinating textures with the contrast against the sky adding to the impact of the scene. There's a fine balanced exposure of your work process leading to an excellent finished result with nice shadows. A great shot, you have caught the majesty of the place. Fine work, Congrats.
