Photographer’s Note
There is an area in Arches National Park that is a valley of petrified dunes. The wavy terrain of the sand dunes has petrified and with the cloudy and dark weather condition, the place looks surreal to me. What I cannot capture are some sunlight going through and to a lighted portion of the petrified sand.
This was done using HDR process but I did not change the colors. I want to remember it as I saw it then.
American Indians roam and used this area of Archers National Park for thousands of years. The Archaic people, the Puebloan, the Fremont, and Ute people searched the desert for food animals, wild plant foods, and stones for tools and weapons. They left evidence of their passing on a few pictographs and petroglyph panels. Towering spires, pinnacles and balanced rocks vie with the petrified sand dunes as scenic spectacles here.

hi Andre
I admire your skill of HDR which still retain natural flavor of the landscape scenery of this Park's rock formation. It is a great shot.

The sky and the mountains clearly have different tones.
In any case I think colors are just too fake.
