Photographer's Note

This was taken from a crumbling cliff top looking down on a beach near the coastal resort of Seaside. Seaside is the oldest and largest coastal resort in Oregon with its first guesthouse opening in 1870. In 1888 it became connected by railroad allowing commercial and recreational activities to develop. With a population of 1600 by 1910 it expanded to over 10,000 in the summer months.

There are some very busy beaches in the area that contrasted with the quieter ones that we visited in other places along the wonderful Oregon coastline. However, there are still some quieter spots to be found such as this one.
