Taken at the Japanese Garden in Portland Oregon, this is one of several Japanese Maple trees within the garden. One of the most photographed and famous of these trees is in the same area and of course I photographed that one as well. This tree is surprisingly small, probably not more than about 4 feet tall and from eye level most people don't even notice the branch pattern and rarely do people lie down on the ground like I did to look or to take photos. I used the widest lens I have (17mm) but wished I had something wider. The camera was placed on the ground.

your low POV works extremely well, the interesting shape of the trunk combined with the saturated colours make a very striking image.

Hello, interesting low pov shows us the trees branch system as it stretches and reaches to the sky. The colors seem hot. Not sure why but the composition is great.

What a fascinating shot, and well worth your efforts. I have a sister that lives in Portland, so next time I head up there for a visit, this place will be on the itinerary for sure. A great eye to catch this veined formation of the tree, and the colors are incredible...is this actually the end of a rainbow? :) Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take care.
