Yaquina Lighthouse Photo

Photographer’s Note

New Year's day was very gray and gloomy but my family and I still had a great time visiting the beach and of course they put up with me taking a ton of photos.

This photo was taken in Newport, Oregon. The lighthouse and the surrounding area is not only beautiful but very educational. Below the lighthouse on the beach you will find numerous tidepools,a community of sea lions and an interpretive center with park rangers at the ready to answer any questions you may have and point out the variety of sea life that you may miss. I found this large pinkish, redish thing and the park ranger informed me that it was a Mullusk. I would have never known....now in the movie "Finding Nemo" makes sense to me when Nemo's dad is trying unsuccessfully to tell a joke about a mullusk. I laugh every time I think about it. The park is very inexpensive to visit, only five dollars and you can spend all day there. What a deal!

Hi dear friend Bettine;
Don´t worry about the gray and boring background this is what making different between photograper and painter who can paint their art with pen and color afterwords, ofcourse we have the possiblity with photoshop or other program but best is as you showed in this shot of yours, what the nature is, and you did a good job with very good sharpness and nicely composed, good note too.

Beautiful clear details to this wonderful lighthouse. The b&w makes this one look like an authentic period photo.
