Photographer’s Note

This is Mount Hood in Oregon. At 11,245 feet high it is the highest point in Oregon and is the fourth highest peak in the Cascades. It dominates the Portland skyline. This is an active volcano which last erupted in the 1790's a few years before the Lewis and Clark expedition that did pass it on their voyage through the Louisiana Purchase. Mount Hood was named after a British admiral, Lord Samuel Hood, by Captain George Vancouver.

This was by far the clearest weather I had on the entire trip. This was the only day where I had so few clouds. Taken around 1pm.
