Photographer’s Note
Medford, Oregon schools closed for the 1st time in about 9 years because of the snowfall that allowed for this snowball to be made. This is a few days after the snow.

More than snow this ball look like a rock someone has been carving at. I like the simple composition with the misty trees in the background and the ball right in the middle. Very interesting idea to shoot this lonely figure standing there and amusing us. Cheers and thanks for sharing Shane :-)

The snowball "explosion" is quite interesting on a field that seems to have no snow. I am glad you had a comment to explain why. I am curious as to how big the snowball was, as there is no close by marker of size, which could be nice, but then could be distracting from the beauty of the composition.

Love that one, looks like a giant snowball thrown onto earth by a giant. :-D
I like the desaturated green and the foggy atmosphere in the background. The tilted tree (wide angle distorion?) add to the surreal feeling of the whole scene.

Hello, Shane--
Nice work here, the atmosphere is very intense. The composition is centered in so many ways, but i think just the impact of the ball of snow against the more neutral green background cries for attention, making the centered composition work. The wide angle really pulls the snowball into the front of the frame, also, making the distance between it and the background very dramatic.
Thanks!
sam
