"Harry,Turn Around!"" Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken at Alton Baker Park in Eugene Oregon yesterday. We were finally blessed with blue skies and sunshine and that meant going to the park and feeding the geese, ducks and whatever other creature happened by wanting oyster crackers and bread. It is kind of funny that our college football team here is Oregon Ducks and this park is very close to the stadium where they play. Our city is full of ducks and geese so I guess our football team has an appropriate mascot.

As my son and I were riding our bikes around the pond this Goose caught my eye....he surely was interested in me and not following the rest of the Geese in ignoring me....as he was staring at me the others kept honking and seemed to me they were telling him to turn around and stop staring at the human! Hahahaha! I hope you enjoy!

What a terrific shot. You could perhaps crop it even more "letterbox" to heighten the comic effect. Well done!

Quite funny one. Nice to see some individualism!
Background is somewhat messy. I'd crop off the leftmost goose and the white object behind it. And larger aperture would help to make background less messy. There's also some tilt. It would be unnoticeable, but the lamppost and it's reflection bothers me a little.

Ha! This shot would go very well with my duck shots I've got. That is an amazingly interesting shot that you found all the geese lined up like that with only one turned the wrong direction. Very nice shot and very humorous. Good job.

I tryed to do a WS on your pic but it ended up with less than 250 pixel in height and that is not compatible with TE. Sorry!

I came across this compelling shot of yours while reviewing a photo of Niagara Falls. What's more, I was in your area of the world to give a talk on April 24th.

This is a beautifully composed shot, where you caught a fleeting moment. I imagine you've gotten many viewers commenting about "putting all your ducks in a row."
