Photographer’s Note
A young Klamath/Modoc warrior in traditional regalia dances to honor his mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at a Mother's Day pow-wow. The intertribal pow-wow has been held annually at the University of Oregon for 37 yrs. This year's pow-wow featured over 200 men & women dancers in both traditional and modern regalia from tribes all over the western United States and Canada, and a special presentation by native Hawaiian dancers.
Cropped, levels, sharpened.

Absolutely cute, this little dancer. I like the slight blur at his head and feet, it accentuates the notion of movement.

Interesting photo. Good moment. I like it that we can see the movement...

Someday I'm going to make it to this pow-wow, my girls would love it I'm sure. I love the sense of motion you've captured in this action shot. From the look on his face, he's enjoying himself. Well done.

Don,
Good image...
You should try taking photos at the Celilo Salmon Festival and Pow Wow in the Long House. It's a fantastic experience with plentiful opportunities for photographers to capture different looks of the dancers in "motion."
Also the Grande Rhonde have an outdoor festival Pow Wow.
I'll have one or two of mine from Celilo Falls up on the site next week..
See you then.....
