Sunset at Cannon Beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

We had a brief break from totally foggy weather when we got to Cannon Beach, on Oregon's North Coast. It was not enough to make Haystack Rock - the most famous landmark in the area - any more interesting, but it did produce this decent sunset.

looks like there's a bit of noise in the sky, but that's a minor detail - love this photo. the white-crested waves and dark clouds create quite a drama. the sea gulls are great addition to the scene, very nice work.

The birds at rest on the shore presented you with a nice FG subject, adding to it the reflective sunset light on the wet sand, the waves and the warm colors of the sky itself, really gives you a good capture of this moment to make it effective photo. I see one bird is flying just above the horizon. Good work.
