Photographer’s Note

This is the view that inspired this series. I was driving across a bridge, unable to stop, when I glimpsed this view, the light was almost gone. Fortunately the next day, I arrived earlier with a driver and the light was once again good. From the bridge, I continued walking along the park.

Bend, built around a bend in the Deschutes River, has made the river its centerpiece. Parks run along much of the river. The Bend Park and Recreation District, along with the City of Bend and private land holders, is working toward implementing a community vision for an uninterrupted river trail. The trail will parallel the Deschutes River running through the heart of our community. It’s nearly completed and runs from Sun River to Tumalo state Park, about 50 miles This map shows those existing trails.

Hi Pat,
Another superb river image in your stunning series of this lovely Oregon city.
The brilliant yellow reflecting in the deep blue placid river is truly striking.
Makes me want to launch my kayak and whil away a lazy Indian Summer afternoon.

Beautiful and gorgeous capture.The well saturated colours, specially the deep blue sky is looking fascinating. The reflection of those yellow bushes into the water is also looking beautiful.Like the curve in the shore which has nicely divided the frame into two.

I can almost feel the crisp air here, some autumn days are like this but not many...

Hello Patricia,
Another great one, seems you control the colour sliders very well inside LR. Strong contrast, deep saturated colours, just as i like to see them.
But also the perspective view along the river works very good in colour and depth....a real good one.

Beautiful fall colors, as always the red and the gold stand out so nicely against red. Somehow I don't think foliage is the same quality in Europe. Missing the USA... Regards,

Another gorgeous image from your day in Bend. Like before your colours are stunning and the reflections sublime. There is something about blue anad yellow combined that is so appealing. I love the "texture" you have captured on the water. It almost looks like we could touch it.

another great shot, Pat, I can see why you were eager to return to the place. nothing beats the combination of lime yellow and clear blue, and the reflection that doubles the effect. nice one :)

These autumn colours definitely gives so much of photo ops. Pity we don't find them much in my country. Fine contrast with the warm colours contrasting with the cool blue tones of the sky & the reflection in the water. Good POV with the waterline in a gentle diagonal. Fine work!
