Photographer’s Note
This is one of the pedestrian bridges across the Deschutes River near downtown Bend. As I shot this picture, most of the students from nearby Bend High School were running in the park behind me with the Coach calling her encouraging instructions.
Bend, built around a bend in the Deschutes River, has made the river its centerpiece. Parks run along much of the river. The Bend Park and Recreation District, along with the City of Bend and private land holders, is working toward implementing a community vision for an uninterrupted river trail. The trail will parallel the Deschutes River running through the heart of our community. It’s nearly completed and runs from Sun River to Tumalo state Park, about 50 miles This map shows those existing trails.

Hello Pat,
The colours are most amazing, varying from green via yellow to deep red!
Over here we had heavy wind a few days ago, bringing all leaves to the ground leaving only naked brown branches...
This is a great postcard, well composed and the best of tech quality!
Greetings,

Hi Pat,
This is the autumn in its purer condition! You have caught with a great strength its chromatic beauty in this splendid landscape, under a great light and a few vivid colors with a beautiful saturation.
Nice work.

Hi Pat!!
what a wanderful place!!
You will not believe: a lady in Seattle, where I exchanged home, said that Oregon is boring! But she must be silly, I see here so many beautiful places! I would have to go to Oregon because two ladies came to my place and they are waiting for us, I must not forget this opportunity!
You composed this picture so well! colors, reflection... all perfect!ùCiao, a kiss!

Hi Pat,
this is so nice, full of colors! I love such deep saturated colors and therefore I love this shot! I like how you placed these branches in the upper right corner, they really do create a good depth of field. Love your POV, this ownderful deep blue sky and these reflections. Really nothing to improve!
Take care

Hi Pat,
Once again, superb automnal colours.
It is probably a pleasure to walk on this footbridge and to enjoy the quietness and peaceful atmosphere of this place.
I like the way you framed the sight, including very nice reflections.
Very well done!

Hi Pat,
Ah, love those brilliant autumn golds and reds - and the reflections are absolutely stunning. Are you shooting with the vivid setting cranked pretty high on the D300? This is my kinda shot - sharp as a tak and clear as a bell, as they say - gotta love Nikon's color! TFS. Gerald

Pat,
This is a great autumn colors shot taken under great warm lighting. Your composition is great using the reflection to provide depth and direction. The photo has excellent sharpness and detail. The bridge creates a nice line through the shot.

Hi Pat,
I remember a professional photographer declaring that there are not two better colors found in nature than blue and yellow.
So this image proves that statement in spade.
We also have enough contrast green to make this a magical image.
Love the yellow and gold reflecting in the deep blue river.

Hi Pat
Another stunning Autumn capture, with the colours looking more intense than your previous post. The shadows are looking deeper so that is probably why. Splendid atmosphere once again. Well done

Your latest uploads have such vibrant colours I can only assume it is down to your newly aquired Lightroom techniques. This is stunning and autumn is definitely the season to exploit vibrance, especially in this good light. Very well composed image. I like the sideways V formed from the bush on the right and the bridge, and the branches at the top are an important feature too. I musn't forget to mention the glorious reflections.
Kath
btw you can get to vivid settings in the D300 from the picture control menu, although I have mine set to neutral.

Foliage and reflections at their very best, it doesn't get much better than this in terms of colors! Truly wonderful shot, perfectly presented.
Have a good day, and thanks for your visit to my latest Monument Valley shot. Much appreciated.

Hi Pat
I've yet to visit Bend but I want to get to Crater Lake one of these days. I really love Oregon and had the pleasure of attending a WS in Enterprise and Joseph last June.

the best in the series that I've seen so far, I like a lot how luminous and polished everything feels. the composition works very well, strong lines and triangles is something I always enjoy. but above all - the colours! deep blue of the sky, golden trees, some red accents.. beautiful, nothing more to add.
best,
Kristine

Hello Pat
Brilliant palette of colours, the warm autumn colours contrasting with the cool blue of the river & the sky. You seem to take almost all your landscape shots in f/8..is that the sweet spot in your lens? Here the sharpness is definitely better than the 'Community Vision' post. Like this picture a lot!
Best Regards
