Photographer’s Note
This is the top of Mt Bachelor as seen from one of the lower chair lifts. Before I saved it for the web, you could clearly see the Ski Patrol loading sombody in the litter to be taken off the slope; those upper bowls look pretty icey.
I posted a picture this summer of the other side of this mountain.

Pat this mountain does not look very big but it has fine nice, lines. Aesthetically it has a nice shape with long moderate slopes and interesting bowls. I see the slope just below the summit is quite steep and perhaps offer a challenge to some skiers. The exposure in the picture is very good. The color of the snow is very white, clean snow only interrupted by those small patches of rock. Very nice picture Pat.

Bonjour Patricia
Joli paysage de montagne enneigée sous un beau ciel bleu avec quelques nuages sympathiques. L'air pur m'arrive jusqu'ici.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

Bonjour Patricia
A classic landscape shot with natural colors. What is the altitude ? I don't know this mountain before you show it.
Cheers

Clean white snow set against blue skies is always a great combo and this is no exception!
Nice curves and lines in the mountain break the scene up nicely. Maybe, just maybe, i'd have preferred more forground and less sky, but this is still a good shot - well done!

Hi Patricia,
fine broad view over the mountain. I have searched for patrols but could not find them (Those little points on the right side of the heartshaped enlighted center of the mountain?

I remembered your summer post and it looks very different from this POV. Very well exposed. I don't get chance to take snow shots but I understand exposure is difficult. An excellent addition to your theme.

Hi Pat,
Crisp and clear. Maybe too much clouds, that get confused with the snow at left.

Where you at the top of the mountain or, is this the top? From this POV the mountain looks very different from the one on the other picture. It is a simple picture but I like it anyway. Well done.

Hi Pat,
Beautiful calm sky against this bowl shaped mountain. The exposed rocks show how dangerous these slopes can be.

Hi Patricia. You know if I knew how close I was to this place when I was in Bend I would have gone and checked it out. I was just checking out all of your other Mount Bachelor posts and they are all excellent. I might prefer a wider view here but I'm sure you had the zoom on for the ski shots so you had to improvise. Good one Pat!

Hi Pat. A pleasant winter impression of this gentle-looking mountain, in which the half-and-half horizontal framing between land and sky works quite well. The exposure is balanced considering the bright sunlight that hits the snow, and the scenery is rendered in a refreshing way. Good to see some snow which has been a very rare sight in the central European winter this year.

Hi Patricia,
An interesting panorama of the peak. I like your proportion of sky here. The shadow effects on the left of the peak enhance and help save the shot from lack of tonality. The line of trees in the foreground anchor the scene and provide a separate field of interest. Indeed it looks icy up there, and given what has just occurred on Mt. Rainier, I am surprised there are not more skiing disasters. Cheers.

Hola Patricia.
Beautiful winter landscape with the white mountain and the blue sky. Very good POV, nicely captured. Maybe next time would be nice to see more of the foreground, but this doesn't change the excellent shot you got.
Well done. Cheers.

Hi Pat - the scenery is gorgeous of course, and the cloud filled sky provides a perfect balance to it, with all this light and snow, this one would have been very easy to screw up, but it came out the way it should have.

Hi Pat,
I like the cleanliness of this photo, with a beautiful landscape of mountain and a great contrast of the trees and the dark rocks with the whiteness of the snow and of the clouds, and the blue sky.
This kind of landscape inspires always a great peace and tranquility of spirit whom it is lucky to enjoy it.
I like your shot.

Hi Pat,
what a contrast. I keep posting pictures coming out of the brazilian summer and you the frigid mountains of Oregon. I like this contrast. It allows me to cool off ...
This post seems to be pretty deserted. The white vastity makes it very difficult to spot the Ski Patrol, but after a while I could see a gathering of 3-4 dots. It is nice to see the blackness of the pine trees and rocks sticking out of the thick white blanket of snow.

Hi Pat
A simple compo. but so very elegant. It's surprising that the mountain looks far bigger in the WS photo, from the other side. Love the shade & light effect on the slope with excellent exposure control. The contrast of the white snow with the black rocks is very nice. Lovely winter shot Pat

This wintery scene
Quiet eve dawns
Serene billowy beauty
Mounds of white
Flakes form the wintery scene
Captivating my mind's eye
Let's make some snow angels
From the glow of the moonlight streaming in
And the glow of hearts together
Let's share love to warm us
Cold snap in the air
Autumn's vibrant colors seem a distant memory
As I asborb this wintery scene
....this is what you'r photo is telling me..
like the way you've captured this....
nice colors and wonderful scenario
well done
