Photographer’s Note
Sorry Folks, I should never post after spending the day trying to get my Dad to agree to accept some help. I posted a version that I had briefly tried to stitch together two photos to give the goose the rest of his tail feathers. Recognizing that it wouldn't work, I gave up the effort. When I selected a photo to save for the web, I pulled up the wrong photo. My sincerest apologies. I would repost but on my previous attempt to repost, I lost the critiques posted. Some were understandably annoyed with my dumping their work. For the present, I’ve posted the correct version in the workshop. So let me know, repost or not?
I’m uncertain if the Canadian Geese on Mirror Pond migrate; they appear very comfortable with people. Around our place, there certainly is a huge increase in Canadian Geese in September The Pacific Flyway starts in Alaska and follows the coast to mouth of the Columbia River Where they cut inland and fly to Tule Lake in Northern California or on down to the Sacramento River Delta. The Pacific fly way isn’t used as extensively as the Eastern, or the Missippippi flyways; perhaps because temperatures are more temperate. Canadian Geese mate for life although there is an occasional rare divorce. About 10% of both males and females form same-sex relationships. More information on Mirror Pond

Hi Patricia,
Indeed there is a line on the bottom right corner as Pablo noticed. An interesting portrait here with good clarity and colour brilliance. I like the texture of the water and leaving more space towards the left and is a good portrait consideration. Well done!! Have a nice day.

Hi Patricia
Beautifully captured the details and warm color of the bird.
There is the problem at right, as refered by Pablo. Maybe you have to re-post.

I like the extremely good definition on the bird and the beautiful colours as well. I am not talking about that line but it would be nice to know what is going on. Well done.

Interesting framing, Pat. The geese is clearly not in the water (or ist it?) and for such reason I at the first moment miss its feet. However, on a second thought I think that your framing is provocative and interesting ... the main focus is the wing movement anyway ... and I loke the water in the backdrop matching in colors with the feathers.
Cheers, Peter

The light on the feathers is wonderful and you captured the goose in excellent detail. The colours in the water make a very good background. The line on the right is strange as noted by others,as though the upload took a long time and it became disjointed.

Hi Pat,
Lovely composition of this bird. I am not also certain whether they migrate. Excellent sharpness on the feathers and eyes; the ripple on the water is pleasing. Very good work. Hope all is well. Regards. Danilo

Hello Patricia
Lovely picture of this broken goose ;). I like it. Great colours and this mistake increases the value of the image like on some post stamps :).

Hi Patricia,
Great details on the goose. I think it would be difficult to stitch pictures of water since its moving alot. TFS!

Hi Patricia,
Unlike your previous picture which seemed to lack in sharpness, this is just fantastic. Good sharp focus, excellent details. Great work.

Hello Patricia,
Excellent close-up of this duck.
Perfect details of the feathers.
And I think the colours of the water match on perfection with the colours of the goose.

Hi Patricia,
Superb lighting on this bird, and the unusual upward arc of its feathers is well appreciated. Although the WS version is perhaps slightly better, the white feathers are slightly overexposed there, so this one will do fine. Your note is interesting about migration habits. Up here in the Fraser Vally there are many resident Canada Geese populations that winter over. Well captured, Pat.

Hi Pat
The WS gets rid of some small mishaps on the right had side & gives a brighter feel. The crop is also good. The details are very nice especially with the light on her feathers.Beautiful shot Pat
