Photographer’s Note
The rising full moon always takes me by surprise so this was hand held, shooting from beside the freeway. To avoid this, here's a website where you can find moon rise and sunset times to best plan your moon shots. Here is a full moon schedule

Thanks for the website... I'm always curious about the moon... a piece of knowledge that was given to me a long ago and now I'll pass on to you... when shooting the moon think of it the same way you'd shoot a light bulb. You'll see the difference. :-)
Cheers,
Enrique

Que bela lua, Pat!
Nice picture indeed. I like very much the way that the dark trees make a frame for the moon.

The trees make excellent framing for the moon, and the mid-night blue of the sky is lovely. A beautiful minimal composition.

If I may call this a 'Moonlight serenade' I will happily do that.
What a mood..Ooops - a moon.
Sometimes, when you stay for a night or two in the forests, and if you're lucky enough - You can see this. And the tree tops. And hear good, ol' Ludvig Van B.
Thanks, Patricia

Hi Patricia
This is a nice and placid shot. I like the way you have framed the moon between the foliage and trees. The sky is a nice dark blue with some colour still left in it, which enhances the picture. A great capture.

Hi Pat,
Good comp and colors. Thanks for posting the schedule. Andante's comment is also useful. Will try that setting. Best wishes.

Simple but very intersting, Pat. The black tree silhouettes versus the dark-blue sky create an interesting canvas on which the moon makes a golden appearance. I like this one and find it much more original and artistic than the detailed but lifeless super-telezoom photos of the moon's surface that one gets to see on TE every once in a while.

Hi Pat,
Minimalistic composition!
Few elements, few colours... Works well!
Scenery nicely framed with good colours...
Any idea why the moon seems to have a reddish ring?

Hi Patricia. I like the fact that we can see tree detail in the deep shadows. You chose the perfect time of night to take this because of the nice blue sky you had. Although it's pretty minor I think I see some noise in the sky.

Wow Pat...so beautiful! I haven't seen such a beautiful moonshot for a long time. Lovely framing with the trees & the deep blue of the sky makes the moon glow. Lovely composition

Hi Pat,
Lovely shot of the full moon with perfect ring against the dark blue sky and handsomely framed by the forest below.
