Photographer's Note
Being in such a pure Zen like place, I couldn't help it. I had to take this shot. A really simple composition was called for here. I decided to include the moon to create a stronger sense of loneliness & vastness. Being in a secluded place away from all the stress in the world sure feels good. I took a spot reading from the sand and opened up 1 stop to make the sand white while keeping the sky dark.

Well, it seems that mot all you images are obtained using neutral density graduated filters. The image is technically sound, beautiful in its simplicity with a very well balanced composition and excellent colors. The plant and the fine sand dunes are enough for a great image but the inclusion of the moon was a fine touch. Excellent quality of the conversion to digital.

Technically your shot is perfect, as always. The colours, the simple composition, the clarity and details everything is right and well balanced together in harmony.
The filter effect is gorgeous. Good exposure.

Hi Pat, it's a stunning composition ! So superb !
I did not know whether it was sand or snow and had to study your note to find out, amazing you can get it so white. Superb placement of this plant, good light, a bonus brought by the moon and an overall atmosphere that fits perfectly to the title.

I looks like that here to since yesterday but it will go away! Lovely shot of this snowlike sand. The high format works well to cover the plant and the moon without loosing itself on the way. Nice positioning in opposite corners.
A picture from you without water - am I missing something?

Strong amazing zen shot ;-) I like the small aperture use, these red glowing tones together with the deep blue sky. Fantastic one !

Encore une fois, une photo parfaite. Le détail de cette plante et la composition avec cette lune dans le coin opposé est sublime.

A Zen haiku for this scene:
A white dot in the sky
A plant in the sand dune

Really evocative Zen composition!
Good choise to take the spot reading from the sand.
The moon is a little bit too little.
