San Geronimo Church
Taos Pueblo, New Mexico
Taos Pueblo, which is just over a mile north of the main town of Taos, NM, is home to 2000 people of a Northern Tiwa speaking Native American tribe of Pueblo people which have inhabited this pueblo for over 1000 years. Currently, only about 150 people live in this pueblo full time.
This is the entranceway of the front of San Geronimo (or St. Jerome's) Chapel. It was built in 1850 to replace the original church destroyed in the War with Mexico. A majority of the Pueblo practice Catholicism, while the ancient Indian religious rites are still practiced alongside it.
I've noticed from other photos of this church that the painting of the perimeter is often changed. It has appeared entirely white to entirely natural.

Bonjour,
Un magnifique ciel qui fait bien ressortir les croix.

Hi Amber,
an interesting architecture without any sharp edges. I like your composition, how you took the same shape - the white element - in foreground and in background ...thanks for sharing.

Salam,
A beautiful composition with lovely colors..I think a bit crop from the bottom would be useful.
Nice capture,

The whites and tans really contrast well with each other. I also really like the use of the wall in the foreground as it really helps frame the nice architecture of the Chapel. The lines are straight, you did a very good job!

Hi Amber,
I love the relationship of the white foreground wall to the top of the church. Not just the color and form but even the way the light hits both. Well seen .. well done ..
take care,
John

Hi, Amber. This is an image with very good contrasts and a good graphic quality. Maybe a slightly tighter crop at the bottom would have made it even better.

Hello Amber
De très beaux contraste de couleurs avec ce ciel si bleu. Une exposition parfaitement maîtrisée avec ces très beaux blancs pas brulés. Une très belle netteté!!
Du très beau travail, amicalement

Hello Amber:
Interesting framing of the Church of San Jerónimo in Taos, I like much the contrast of so intense colors and such an original form of the architecture in New Mexico.
A greeting and thank you.....
