Photographer's Note

The Scenic High Road to Taos is a designated Scenic Byway winding for 84 kilometers (52 miles) from north of Santa Fe, New Mexico to the historic Taos Pueblo. The major attractions are Nature and history - flowing through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains where Native Americans and early Spanish settlers lived. From Santa Fe take highway route 285 to Espanola then the Scenic Byway starts at route 76 heading east.

In this view the road parallels the Rio Grande River and in autumn the cottonwoods, aspens, willows, etc. show off their golden colors.
