Photographer’s Note
Here's another photo from the White Sands National Monument. The wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert and have created the world’s largest gypsum dune field. The white dunes are ever changing: growing and always advancing. Slowly but relentlessly the sand, driven by strong winds, covers everything in its path. Only a few species of plants grow rapidly enough to survive burial by the moving dunes.

Hi Alford,
Amzing picture. The perfect sparkling white sand contrasting with the purple sky really create a different atmosphere. The composition is great with the bush and its nice shadow making for a really nice stetic effect.
Kind Regards,

Hi Alford
Very crisp and clean image portrayed in this shot, with bright sunny blue sky and white sand contrast.
You shot from a good angle to have the grass green in midst of white sand and the sand in rippled layers. The smooth curved form shape of top outline with shadow is nicely placed below the sky to form a clean line.
Great job. TFS

Hello Alford
A minimalistic and artistic compo! Love the shadow of the plant and the ripples on the sand creating a nice pattern. Colors are great too! I only wish, it would be a bit bigger format.
Cheers

This is a great composition Alford. So simple, but so beautiful. A magic proof that simplicity always yield the most striking results. Great use of light and shadows here. It would well be a great contender for a fantastic b&w shot. The colors work well either, but if I were you I would have gone a little easier on the hue/saturation of those blues. They look a bit unreal to my eyes... But it's a great photo, no doubt about it.

Hi Alford,
Amazing picture, its simple and bright and thats what makes it so special. I like the the detail of the plant in the sand, it gives color where only the sky brings some difference.

Pedro

HI Alford,
An amazingly empty place and somewhat surreal colors that probably also result from you choice of white balance, that little piece of bush is ideally placed in this well framed vertical image.
Have a nice day JY
