Photographer's Note
One evening we got a nice Thunderstorm here over Alamogordo and I went out to make some tests with my Dimage H7. Luckely I could stand in front of our house under the roof and play around with my camera. Here one of the resulting pictures. The lensglare comes from one of the streetlamps on the left side. Thunderstorms here in New Mexico with the dry air and in our altitude of about 1500 meters above see level most times are very impressiv.

Like Jeppe, this is something that I want to try someday. But my camera has only 8 seconds of maximum time exposure. I bet a lot of patience is needed to make this kind of picture, one have to shoot several times and wait for the thunder to come...

Nice photo. I think that you should clone out those light red glares and crop the left 2-3 cms of your photo to get rid of those over the the trees. Maybe just a better photo IMMO. Note that I never got one of this kind of photos and am very eager to get them .. Maybe next Spring ..

Nice lightning with multiple prongs. I just posted one Lightning shot too but I took it at 1/500. Did you open the shutter at bulb and waited for the lightning?
