Photographer's Note

Nevada's Cathedral Gorge State Park is a wonderland of Nature's art. Located off Highway 93 in remote eastern Nevada, in a narrow valley where erosion has carved dramatic and unique patterns in the soft bentonite clay.

This scene includes a rock tower built by President Franklin D. Roosevelt's CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) in the 1930s. The CCC also built a picnic and campground here.
