As mentioned in my previous notes, the sun rises early in the desert…and as you can see here, doe’s me no favors in terms of keeping the sky from being washed out from the bright light. Again though, I’d much rather have been in the cooler shade over the unforgiving sun. I’ve become much more accustomed to it over the years, but it’s still no party…especially when it messes with my pictures. :)
If this guy looks familiar, he should…he's the same one that I photographed in my first picture from Red Rock. He was pretty much keeping the same pace around the canyon drive as my friend and I, but was a lot more active on foot. We talked to him for a short minute at one of the stops, finding out he‘s ex-military…so yeah, he’s in a lot better shape than either one of us.
Ooh, another reminder…I need to finish of that box of donuts before they get stale.
Thanks for stopping by.

very nice as attractive too the colourful rock of the park.Really the walking visitor looks rather familiar with the place, with the whole presentation to be as a 'painting'.

The diagonal line between the brown and light yellow line is excellent.
You did very well addition the man in foreground for the scale.
Sharpness and clarity are very well.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

Hey! Cowboy or perhaps DonutBoy would be more fitting! :-P
that is some Park! I love the sense of scale here in this shot and of course the amazing rock formations and colours. "Red Rock Canyon Stalker" sounds like a great title for a horror film bet this guy was getting worried. Like the use of diagonals in this shot they act as a means of enticing you in and cultivate a desire to explore further. Impressive place and impressive image.
Lurgy is on the retreat and I am now only feeling a bit Grumpy & bit Dopey, so I suppose that makes me Gropey! There wasn’t a dwarf called that was there? If there was I expect Snow White would have been a lot eager for them to return from the mine! Hi-Hoooooooooooooooooooooooh!

Il faut être très en forme pour faire de la marche rapide dans le désert, surtout lorsque le soleil est haut dans le ciel. Cela prend du courage pour y aller avec sa caméra. C'est à ce moment qu'un filtre polarisant est nécessaire.

Yeah, we can see that the light was tricky this time, but it didn't do your photo any harm. The contrasts have been very well handled and the spectacular colors of the rocks are perfectly exposed. The ex-soldier did a good job marching ahead of you.

Mmmm donuts....sorry, to your picture.
I read in your note that this guy was an active dude, and you can see that as you really caught him mid strut. I can't imagine many places more beautiful than this, with it's two tone rock, to wander about, although you mention the heat and anything above twenty and I'm a puddle on the floor so I am probably safer admiring from a distance. The colors of that rock is beautiful, and it looks just a tony little bit like Jabba the Hut.
Have a good Tuesday

Another nice composition from the Red Rock. Very interesting this two colours rock. The ex-military seems very energetic. You found a good timing, with the diagonal line diving the different colours of the rock and this guy going so quickly.
Well, I suppose that you will not complain for too hot and sunny day in Siberia :). I have just read there is no dry season there and the median cloud cover ranges from 90% (mostly cloudy) to 96% (overcast).

this gentleman has become the hero of your series, it's like a documentary, he's helping us explore the extraordinary sceneries and always provides useful scale:) His fitness is evident from his dynamic pace and he adds interest to the lower part, balancing the composition, as the impact of the colourful diagonal rock is irresistible. The graphical effect of the rock stands out in a landscape that looks more ordinary. I like very much the colour management, the depth and textures. The scenery, the path and the sense of movement are very inviting. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,

Yes, that low position of the sun does it all the time, blow out a portion of the sky. I sometimes will pre-expose the camera by pointing it at the bright sky (the same way one focuses on a peripheral object) and holding the shutter half-down, but I need to remember to do it and hope that I can extract enough light out of the shadows in the postprocessing. The other remedy is to layer the photo with the non-sky layer on top and apply a blue filter, without preserving luminosity, to the lower layer.
Anyway, I like the composition and the rock colors in this photo. if a little bit of the sky is washed out, so be it!

Another interesting presentation of the natural heritage in the West of the States. Ha, this rock reminds me a decoration from a foamplast )) But you know I was impressed with these canyouns, cliffs and rocks and I miss them
Amazing V-shaped composition, well seen!
