Damselflies (suborder Zygoptera) are insects in the order Odonata. Damselflies are similar to dragonflies, but the adults can be distinguished by the fact that the wings of most damselflies are held along, and parallel to, the body when at rest. Furthermore, the hindwing of the damselfly is essentially similar to the forewing, while the hindwing of the dragonfly broadens near the base. Damselflies are also usually smaller than dragonflies and weaker fliers in comparison, and their eyes are separated. (From Wikipedia)

I know it's not possible, but I get a feeling that the damselfly is watching you with an amused grin. You managed a fine "portrait" of this tiny but impressive little thing. Its blue color goes well with the pinkish sand. You got the sharpness exactly where it should be.

Does he know he is "official", Eleu... not make any difference to it, I guess - but a nice title for.
Close-up superbly collected, excelent fine details, and a stunning blue color it has.

Excellent macro in perfect light, nice colors, excellent clarity and sharpness. Is it a kind of Dragonfly? In Europe we can see them everywhere around quiet water places, but this one must be adjusted to live in dry desert areas.
Very well done.
Wish you a nice Sunday.
