It only took me a short, 51 minute flight to get from Phoenix to Paris…which is still hard to believe, considering all of the other times it’s taken about 14 hours!? :)
Many have commented on the miniature world that exists here, and Serghei recently mentioned one icon in particular: “Just impressive architecture! If you have got money you can get copies of an every palace of the world ;) And the Eiffel Tower, no doubt.”
And would you look here, it really does exist in the desert…along with parts of The Bellagio, City Center, Bally’s and many others further in the distance.
As cliché as it may be, I just couldn’t resist a shot of The Strip, the most famous and well known part of the city. This is looking westward at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo, on a pedestrian overpass in front of Caesars Palace. Not the most inspired shot, but the best one that could be taken from this bridge without having a wall of smudged plexiglass in front of me. Plus, I thought it was a good opportunity to see The Strip in a non-traditional setting…that being during the day. It takes on an entirely different look and feel when the sun goes down and the lights come up. Welcome to Sin City.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi, Nice composition from this crossing. Excellent view of Eiffel Tower. HAha, in 51 minute fro Phoenix you can be in Venice, Egypt, South East Asia or Paris. I was in most of these places in LV and in reality. They are funny copies. The best for me was new York. Only Bellaggio has nothing to do with Italian town.
Warm regrads Malgo

I would imagine that this Eiffel Tower has much hotter conditions to contend with than the original!
You have included so much in the one shot and still managed to give good lead lines and strongly placed features.
There is such a mixture of styles. It must be like a world tour, completed in half a day ... or less!
Have a lovely Sunday,

Why resist your photographic urges, everyone who visit this place would do just the same, cliche' or else, Jason, beautiful POV chosen and shown. Fine view up the boulevard.
Vibrant city, intriguing for anyone with a camera.

Classic LV shot this. Which gives us a great idea of the lay out and setting of this city of excess. It always surprises me how the skyline changes here and big hotels get demolished only to be replaced by even bigger ones. It is a few years since my last visit but I do remember the mini-Eiffel tower and the huge Pyramidy one, which I think is off to the left behind your POV here. The endless traffic and heat are the two things that I remember most I suppose. Mind you it is clear blue and hot here as I write this.
Have a great Sunday - BeeDee
Off to the beach, waiting there is a cool pint of real ale with my name on it.

Between 51 minutes and 14 hours is very big different, but in Paris is of course the really Eifeltowers and here the replica.
A nice contrast picture with the lovely blue sky
Colours and sharpness make these picture very attractive.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,

Je crois bien que c'est en mai la meilleure période pour visiter Végas. En juillet cela doit être beaucoup trop chaud. Tu as trouvé un très beau point de vue sur le Strip où on peut voir toutes les merveilles du monde sur la même rue.

Thanks for the note on the pedestrian bridge, I thought perhaps you had brought your balloon chair with you. I like this new view of the city too, as you say, it's different from the traditional sights, and it captures a great image of the weird and wacky buildings all scattered around here. I know the eiffel tower is a copy, but it's still pretty ginormogantic all the same. Cool view, and I like the the roads are always so busy ith traffic. These streets are wider than our motorways :)
There is something very perfect about this scene, like an artists rendition come to life.
Have a great new week ahead, cheers from the soggy rock.
Still hasn't stopped raining here, bah humbug!

Las Vegas is the fun center of America. The gambling capital of the world.I love to see the broad street walks and the palm trees lining the streets. The famous Caesers Palace and the Eiffel Tower replica. But where is the Taj Mahal? Hope you had a great time.TFS.

I can think of many night views I've seen of Las Vegas in films, tv series or photos but it's rare to come across a spectacular, broad and detailed day view like this. Your photo gives us a wonderful description of the cityscape and the morning traffic, the view is very clear, the sunny and shady colours well balanced, natural and pleasing. Maybe the might lights work like make up does and this view has for me a sense of candidness and revelation. I like the backstage information in your note too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Well, Jason, and Paris is not so far from Moscow ;)
Another informative photo from Las Vegas, I like your choice of the point of view. Good perspective, fine details, we can see a few levels of this area. When you will come to my city I will show our copy of the Eifel tower. Not so big, but very attractive. Thanks for my words ;) It makes me smile again.
Best wishes from rainy Ural town,

Once more calls my atention so few people walking, was temperature very hight?
As you havent riden a horse , hope you did in an easy and carefull way, I never have interest in LV, believe it was a bunch of buildings one next the other
I found a cler and clean city with wide avenues and some vegetation
Hope you show more about the sins of the city

My favorite is the gondola ride indoors with an artificial Venetian skyline. This is a very nice photo that shows the flavor of the place, inspired or not. It is an excellent fit for TE.

51 minute flight eh? from Bellingham where we fly out of, (just across the USA/Canada border) its about a 2 hour flight. Not as fast as yours, but still pretty darn good!
Oh Vegas, love it or hate it, it keeps bringing me back!
I find myself just sitting here staring at the scene, and thinking about what my next Vegas holiday will look like! I typically go here at least once every year for the past 5 or 6 years.
Easily the desitation i've traveled to most frequently.
I gotta say though...what the HELL is "The Cromwell"??
on the left?
I think thats where Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon used to be, just across from Bally's. So much for my Bill's hotel...it was a great location on the strip and at a cheap price too...guess thats gone now.
I love it when newbies go to Vegas for the first time and say things like...we're going to walk from MGM to the Ventian and just check things out! lol lol...
the hotels are SO far apart on the strip, but its an optical illusion, not to mention the heat!!
fun photo, brings lots of memories back and invokes new ones!
